Rights & Intellectual Property
Last updated: 15 June 2026
This page explains who owns what on APEX: our rights in the platform, your rights in the content you create, the licences each side grants, and how to raise an intellectual-property concern.
1. Ownership of the platform
APEX and its licensors own all rights in the platform: the software, source code, user interface, design system, logos, copy and the systems that generate and grade questions. All such rights are reserved. Nothing on the platform transfers ownership of these materials to you.
2. Your content
You own the answers, working and messages you submit ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
3. Licence you grant us
To operate the service, you grant APEX a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display Your Content for the purpose of providing the platform to you — for example, sending your answer to the AI for grading, saving your history, and showing your progress. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must retain by law or in routine backups for a limited period.
4. AI-generated questions and feedback
Questions, solutions and feedback generated for you by APEX are provided for your personal study under the licence in our Terms. They are produced by AI and may resemble common textbook problem types but are generated fresh and are not reproductions of official IB past papers. You may use them for your own learning but may not republish, sell or distribute them as your own product.
5. Trademarks
"APEX", the APEX logo and our branding are trademarks of APEX Education. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except for fair, descriptive reference to the service.
6. Third-party materials
The platform may include third-party software, fonts and libraries used under their respective licences. Those materials remain the property of their owners and are used in accordance with their terms.
7. Academic-honesty use
APEX is a learning aid. You are responsible for using it in line with your school’s and the IB’s academic-honesty policies. Do not present AI-generated solutions as your own original work in assessed coursework, internal assessments or examinations where that would breach those policies.
8. IB names and non-affiliation
"International Baccalaureate", "IB", "Diploma Programme", subject names and related marks are trademarks of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). APEX is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the IBO. We reference these names only descriptively, to identify the examinations our tool helps you prepare for.
9. Copyright and IP complaints
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on APEX infringes your rights, email legal@apexedu.app with: a description of the work, the location of the material on APEX, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the material promptly.
10. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback about APEX, you grant us the right to use it freely to improve the product, without obligation or compensation to you.
11. Contact
For any rights or intellectual-property matter, contact legal@apexedu.app.
